about

“How are you? Sorry if I woke you up when I came in this morning.” This candid line was captured when Peter Broderick spoke to East Forest’s partner Radha during what would become the introduction of this contemplative, melancholic piece. Considering the musical backgrounds of both East Forest and Peter Broderick, one might have imagined this particular song would be the logical type of music that would come as a result of putting the two artists together. And indeed after much sonic exploration during their week together – branching off into all kinds of unknown musical territory – this piece felt like a bit of homecoming, back to a kind of music which the two musicians have a mutual love for. What started as an improvisation with East Forest on piano and Broderick on electronics and percussion evolved into fully formed modern cinematic soundscape.
