Towards the end of their weeklong stay in the west of Ireland, meeting for the first time in person and making music together with no preconceived ideas, East Forest and Peter Broderick awoke one day to realize it was Good Friday. In consideration of the upcoming Easter holiday, the two decided to make a song around the theme of resurrection, but not in any biblical sense — more pursuing a feeling of new beginnings and hopeful anticipation. They started by building up a rhythm bed featuring an array of acoustic instruments, using as their kick drum a Bodhran – a traditional celtic drum made from goat skin tightened around a wooden frame. East Forest takes the lead vocal on this track, accompanied closely by Broderick’s nylon guitar and singing violin. If there’s one song on the album that could be considered a bonafide pop song, this is it.
